Technology and Nursing

Technology is a vital aspect of modern society. The implementation of technological tools within hospitals has revolutionized and improved the way health care is delivery. It has transformed the way nurses communicate and associated with colleagues and patients. The use of electronic documentation provides accurate, current, organized and complete patient records thus, increasing communication between nurses and colleagues and improving patient care. Telemedicine allow nurses to deliver practical, effective and high-quality medical care to patients anywhere while reducing hospital cost. Technology assist nurses in accomplishing work more efficiently and effectively while lessening workloads, improving patient care and communication between colleagues. For that reason, in my opinion technology is helping when it comes to overcoming communication barriers in health care.
